1 Platform role and intermediary status

Linka.ng, operated by Arctim Consult Ltd, acts solely as an intermediary and escrow service between clients and freelancers. The Platform facilitates the discovery, agreement, and payment process — it does not employ freelancers, guarantee outcomes, or take responsibility for the work delivered.

Escrow model: All payments made by clients are securely held in escrow by the Platform until the agreed work is completed and formally approved. Funds are never released prematurely.

2 Service fees and payment distribution

A service fee of 20% of the total project amount paid by the client will be deducted by the Platform as a service and escrow management charge. The remaining balance will be released to the freelancer upon successful completion and approval of the project.

Component Percentage Example (₦100,000 project)
Client payment (total) 100% ₦100,000
Platform service fee 20% ₦20,000
Freelancer payout 80% ₦80,000

The 20% fee covers escrow management, payment processing, dispute resolution, and platform operations.

3 Responsibilities of users

Freelancers must deliver services exactly as described in the project agreement, within the agreed timeframe and to the standard specified by the client.
Clients are responsible for providing clear, detailed requirements before a project begins, and for reviewing and approving (or disputing) submitted work within the timeframe agreed at the outset.

Failure by either party to meet these responsibilities may affect the outcome of any subsequent dispute resolution process.

4 Escrow, fund release, and dispute resolution

The escrow lifecycle on Linka.ng follows this process:

💳 Client funds escrow
🛠️ Freelancer delivers work
✅ Client approves
💰 Funds released (80%)

Funds held in escrow will be released to the freelancer only after client approval, or after the dispute resolution process is concluded in the freelancer's favour.

Dispute process: If a dispute arises, both parties agree to provide relevant evidence to the Platform within the specified response window. The Platform reserves the right to investigate and make a final and binding determination regarding the distribution of escrowed funds. The Platform's decision shall be conclusive.

5 Prohibited conduct

Users must not engage in any of the following activities. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination:

  • Fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activities
  • Bypassing or circumventing the escrow system
  • Conducting transactions outside the Platform
  • Manipulating or fabricating reviews or ratings
  • Abusive, threatening, or harassing behaviour
  • Misrepresenting skills, qualifications, or identity
  • Posting misleading job listings or proposals
  • Violating applicable Nigerian laws or regulations
Off-platform transactions: Any attempt to solicit or accept payment outside of the Platform's escrow system removes all protections for both parties. Linka.ng will not mediate disputes arising from off-platform arrangements.

6 Limitation of liability

The Platform is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, legality, or outcome of services provided by freelancers. Linka.ng is a marketplace intermediary — it does not vet, endorse, or warrant the suitability of any freelancer or client.

Liability cap: The Platform's liability, if any, shall be strictly limited to the amount of funds held in escrow for the specific transaction in dispute. The Platform shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.

Users engage with one another at their own risk and are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence before entering into any project agreement.

7 Acceptance and future amendments

By registering on or using Linka.ng, users acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions in full and agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any future amendments to these Terms and Conditions. When material changes are made, the Platform will revise the effective date above and, where practicable, notify users by email or via a prominent in-platform notice.

Questions or concerns? Contact us at [email protected] before using the Platform if you do not agree with any part of these Terms.
