Terms & Conditions
Linka.ng — Escrow-Based Freelance Marketplace
1 Platform role and intermediary status
Linka.ng, operated by Arctim Consult Ltd, acts solely as an intermediary and escrow service between clients and freelancers. The Platform facilitates the discovery, agreement, and payment process — it does not employ freelancers, guarantee outcomes, or take responsibility for the work delivered.
2 Service fees and payment distribution
A service fee of 20% of the total project amount paid by the client will be deducted by the Platform as a service and escrow management charge. The remaining balance will be released to the freelancer upon successful completion and approval of the project.
| Component | Percentage | Example (₦100,000 project) |
|---|---|---|
| Client payment (total) | 100% | ₦100,000 |
| Platform service fee | 20% | ₦20,000 |
| Freelancer payout | 80% | ₦80,000 |
The 20% fee covers escrow management, payment processing, dispute resolution, and platform operations.
3 Responsibilities of users
Failure by either party to meet these responsibilities may affect the outcome of any subsequent dispute resolution process.
4 Escrow, fund release, and dispute resolution
The escrow lifecycle on Linka.ng follows this process:
Funds held in escrow will be released to the freelancer only after client approval, or after the dispute resolution process is concluded in the freelancer's favour.
5 Prohibited conduct
Users must not engage in any of the following activities. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination:
- Fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activities
- Bypassing or circumventing the escrow system
- Conducting transactions outside the Platform
- Manipulating or fabricating reviews or ratings
- Abusive, threatening, or harassing behaviour
- Misrepresenting skills, qualifications, or identity
- Posting misleading job listings or proposals
- Violating applicable Nigerian laws or regulations
6 Limitation of liability
The Platform is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, legality, or outcome of services provided by freelancers. Linka.ng is a marketplace intermediary — it does not vet, endorse, or warrant the suitability of any freelancer or client.
Users engage with one another at their own risk and are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence before entering into any project agreement.
7 Acceptance and future amendments
By registering on or using Linka.ng, users acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions in full and agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any future amendments to these Terms and Conditions. When material changes are made, the Platform will revise the effective date above and, where practicable, notify users by email or via a prominent in-platform notice.
